Spirit Week 2011

This week at Ben's school was SPIRIT WEEK! It was AMAZING to be a part of and see what these kids accomplished!
The main goal of Spirit Week is to collect food for the John 3:16 Mission in Tulsa. Ben's school is one of the largest contributors to this mission.
About 200 students from grade K4 thru 6th collected over 17,000 pounds of food for John 3:16!!! The kids (and parents) had a BLAST while doing it :)
Everyday was a different dress theme. There was a fun chapel every afternoon where the kids sat with their team and cheered, dance, and sang! Each team was lead by a couple of 6th grade students and they had a few kids from each grade on their team. It was wonderful to see how the older kids interact with the younger kids! They truly enjoy it!!!
Here is a few pictures from the week. Ben told mw he can't wait until next years Spirit Week :)

How we do "cowboy day"! boots, Dale Jr tshirt, and a jean workshirt :)

Ben's poster for the "Poster Contest".

He got 3rd Place for his grade!

Every year there is a different "character" that comes in to chapel and lets the kids know how much food they brought that day and which teams were winning. This year was "R.E. Sponsibility"!!! He was a riot and the kids LOVED it!!! Here is some pictures of him through the week!

Wednesday they had the smoke machines on and he came out with a gas mask on!

Thursday he crawled in on the floor-this picture cracks me up!!!

Then Friday's GRAND FINALE! He busted through the vent and then climbed down the wall!!! It was so funny!!!! The kids went crazzzzy!

Ben dancing and singing with his team!

To end our fun week we took a trip to Cherry Berry for some yogurt :)

A Little Treasure

I picked Ben up from school today and he greeted me with a little gift :)
He got to get treasure out of the treasure chest today. Mrs. Hayes gives them treasure when they have been good for 5 days in a row. He loves getting treasure! This time he picked out an orange beaded necklace to give me for Valentine's Day. It was so sweet and I immediately put it on and haven't taken it off yet!
It was the perfect gift from my littlest Valentine!
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY EVERYONE!!!!

12 Weeks

I decided to do a monthly post of my pregnancy. I didn't do this with Ben and really wish I would have. I'm not really the kind of person who is pumped about showing off their belly :) But here we go!

I am 12 weeks and the baby is about the size of a lime! I had a Dr's appointment today and it went very well!! I got to hear the baby's heartbeat again, it sounded beautiful at 159 beats per minute... the nurse let me listen for a while :) I have lost 6lbs, I wasn't suprised since I've been so sick. The Dr said I should start feeling better real soon... hopefully! My blood pressure was perfect so the medicine is working which is great!

The Big Blizzard of 2011

Last Monday at around midnight it started sleeting and mixed with that was a little something the meteorologist called THUNDER SLEET! (it scared me to pieces-haha) After the sleet came the snow, snow, snow, and more snow! It was a blizzard, literally! And when it was all over we had around 15 inches of snow here in town.
Tuesday the wind and snow was so cold that it was impossible to play in. We all three just hibernated inside. Wednesday Matt started clearing out the driveway. He was determined to not be stuck inside anymore! Ben got out for a little while and played in all the snow. We did get out that afternoon and made it to the store for a few things.
We found out Sunday that Ben's school was going to be open YAY! He was so excited he went to bed at 730pm (his choice) and got up this morning ready to go! Bad thing is Tuesday night we are expected to get 5-8 more inches-booo!! I'm sure we'll be out of school Wednesday and Thursday if we get that much snow. I am more then ready for SPRING!!!! Hope everyone stayed warm and safe during all of this crazy snow.
Here is some pictures of the snow on Wednesday:

so happy to be out of the house!

the start of Matt's 3 day driveway clearing! the only tools he has was a regular garden shovel and a broom-all the stores were out of snow shovels!

the snow is past his knees!
